Jammu Tawi, Aug. 10 -- Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday seized a truck loaded with around 11 tonnes of Khair wood being illegally transported during routine checking at Nagrota on the outskirts of Jammu, officials said.
A police spokesperson said a team from Nagrota Police Station intercepted the truck at Ban Toll Plaza during naka checking. The vehicle was travelling from Reasi towards Jammu.
On inspection, the truck was found loaded with approximately 11 tonnes of Khair wood, which was being transported without valid documents, the spokesperson said.
"The seized Khair wood is estimated to be worth approximately Rs 10 lakh," he added.
