Jammu Tawi, June 9 -- Extensive preparations are underway for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, with authorities working to provide improved facilities and services for pilgrims compared to last year, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo said on Monday.

He expressed confidence that pilgrims will have a smooth and comfortable experience during the 57-day yatra which is scheduled to commence on July 3 in the south Kashmir Himalayas and conclude on August 28, coinciding with the festival of Raksha Bandhan.
