New Delhi, Aug. 24 -- Vehicle owners and motorists may soon have to adjust to stricter headlight rules as the government plans changes aimed at reducing glare and improving visibility on roads, particularly at night and during poor weather conditions.
According to a report, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has proposed amendments to the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, with the new safety norms expected to come into effect from April next year.
Under the proposed rules, automatic headlamps on new two-wheelers may be restricted to low-beam mode. The change will apply only to new vehicles and will not affect bikes already on the road.
