SRINAGAR, Aug. 29 -- National Conference Lok Sabha MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi on Friday said he would resign from Parliament but sought answers from party president Farooq Abdullah over the party's position on Article 370 before stepping down. Reports suggest that he may formally resign on November 3, the death anniversary of his father, Aga Syed Mehdi.
In a two-page letter to Abdullah, Mehdi said his resignation would come "even without you asking", but insisted that accountability must precede it. He also said he was awaiting Abdullah's response to the questions raised in his letter.
