Jammu, May 1 -- In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Jammu and Kashmir Government on Wednesday ordered the transfer and posting of 35 JKAS officers across multiple departments to streamline administration and improve governance.

The changes have been effected through Government Order No. 855-JK(GAD) of 2026, issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), stating that the transfers are made "in the interest of administration" and will take effect immediately.

Among the key appointments, Asif Hamid Khan has been posted as Secretary in the Jal Shakti Department, while Smita Sethi has been appointed Managing Director of the J&K Housing Board. Manzoor Ahmad Qadri takes over as Managing Director of J&K Financial Corporation.
