The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), India, has taken suo motu cognizance of a media report regarding the alleged assault and use of casteist slurs against a Class 4 student by a teacher at a Government Primary School in Ukawal village of Shivpuri district, Madhya Pradesh, on July 28, 2026.
