SRINAGAR, Sept. 11 -- Police in Kulgam district on Friday arrested an absconder who had been evading arrest for the past five years in a case registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Police identified the accused as Mohammad Ishaq Sheikh, a resident of Okey, Kulgam, who was wanted in connection with FIR No. 152/2021 registered at Police Station Kulgam under Sections 8/15 and 29 of the NDPS Act.
According to police, the accused was apprehended following specific information after sustained efforts by a team from Police Station Kulgam.
"Acting on specific information, a police team from Police Station Kulgam, after strenuous efforts apprehended the said absconder at Kulgam," police said.
