Srinagar, July 10 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Government has notified the Jammu and Kashmir Parking Rules, 2026, introducing a comprehensive parking management framework that mandates cashless payment of parking fees and violation charges across all Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils and Municipal Committees.
Under the new rules, authorities can wheel-clamp vehicles for non-payment of parking fees, while Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) have been directed to prepare scientific parking management plans within six months.
The government will also establish a Central Parking Management System to facilitate digital parking services through mobile applications, SMS and the National Common Mobility Card.
