India, Feb. 12 -- The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has expanded the mandate of its Sexual Harassment Probe Committee to include complaints by transgender persons, alongside women.
An order issued by the Registrar General at Jammu stated that the decision was made in compliance with the Supreme Court of India's directions in the writ petition Geeta Rani vs Union of India and others. Following the Chief Justice's directive, the existing committee will now handle complaints of sexual harassment and related matters concerning transgender individuals.
