J&K: SPO Disengaged Over Alleged Involvement in Narcotics Case
Srinagar, June 10 -- Jammu and Kashmir Police have disengaged a Special Police Officer (SPO) from service in Baramulla district following his alleged involvement in a case registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
According to police, SPO Khalid Nazir Khan, a resident of Katipora in Tangmarg, was removed from the SPO cadre with immediate effect after his name surfaced in an NDPS case.
A police spokesperson said the action stems from an incident on April 23 when a police team conducting naka checking at Wussan Crossing in the Kunzer area intercepted a vehicle. The occupants, including the SPO, were found in suspicious circumstances during the inspection.
