Srinagar, Aug. 9 -- Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday attached property worth Rs 69.82 lakh belonging to an accused in a 2008 militancy-linked case in Baramulla district, officials said.

The action was taken under a court order, with the attached property comprising 12 kanal of land owned by accused Parvaiz Ahmad Famda, a resident of Kawhar Bala in the Chandoosa area, a police official said.

The official said legal proceedings were initiated in connection with the 2008 case and the property was attached as part of the action against the accused.

Meanwhile, an arrest warrant has been obtained against another accused in the case from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) Court in Sopore, the official added.
