RAJOURI, April 28 -- District Panchayat Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Rajouri Abhishek Sharma has placed Block Development Officer (BDO) Plangher, Mohtshim Hanief, under suspension with immediate effect for poor progress in the ongoing Panchayat Electoral Roll Revision-2026.

Officials said the officer, who was also serving as Assistant Electoral Registration Officer, failed to discharge duties properly, leading to delayed and incomplete revision of electoral rolls, non-adherence to prescribed guidelines and timelines, and lack of supervision over field staff.

They said the lapses adversely affected the integrity and reliability of the revision process.
