India, Feb. 24 -- The government on Monday unveiled India's first comprehensive counter-terrorism policy, titled "Prahaar", outlining a multi-layered strategy rooted in "zero tolerance", intelligence-led prevention and disruption of extremist activities. The policy seeks to deny terrorists, their financiers and supporters access to funds, weapons and safe havens.



Unveiled by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the policy rests on seven key pillars: prevention, response, capacity building, adherence to human rights and the Rule of Law, addressing conditions conducive to radicalisation, strengthening international cooperation, and ensuring recovery and resilience through a whole-of-society approach.
