India, Oct. 6 -- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday called for a strong and integrated national maritime ecosystem involving the Navy, shipyards, DRDO, academia, industry, MSMEs and start-ups to enhance India's maritime power and strengthen its defence capabilities.Track Exec Orders

Singh made the remarks while launching Fleet Support Ship-1, laying the keel for Fleet Support Ship-5 and inaugurating the upgraded Slipway-4 and a 300-tonne Goliath Crane at Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) in Visakhapatnam.

He said the launch of Fleet Support Ship-1, named 'Surya', and the keel laying of Fleet Support Ship-5, along with the upgraded infrastructure at HSL, marked important steps towards strengthening India's maritime capabilities. ...
