Srinagar, Sept. 19 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Police today carried out a search in Sopore sub-district in a case registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and claimed to have seized incriminating material linked to the banned J&K Ittihadul Muslimeen (JKIM), officials said.

The search was carried out in continuation of efforts by the police to dismantle the separatist terror ecosystem.

Police said the searches were conducted in a 2025 case registered under the UAPA. The searches were conducted at the residence of Ghulam Ahmad Rather of Saidpora, Sopore, in the presence of an executive magistrate to ensure legal compliance and transparency, they said.
