HM to chair high-level J&K security review ahead of Amarnath Yatra
Jammu Tawi, June 4 -- Union Home Minister Amit Shah will chair a high-level security review meeting on Jammu and Kashmir in New Delhi on June 8, in the run-up to the annual Amarnath Yatra, sources said.
The meeting assumes significance as it comes days before the commencement of the pilgrimage, which draws thousands of devotees to the Himalayan cave shrine each year and involves elaborate security arrangements across multiple districts in the Union Territory.
Sources said that the review will focus on assessing the overall security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, with particular emphasis on preparedness for the yatra.
