Leh, June 18: Eight traditional handicraft products from Ladaakh have been awarded the prestigious Geographical Indication (GI) tag, in a major boost to the preservation and promotion of the Union Territory's rich cultural heritage.
The recognition highlights Ladakh's unique craftsmanship, indigenous knowledge systems, and centuries-old artisanal traditions, while helping safeguard and promote these culturally significant products at the national and global levels.
The newly registered GI-tagged products include - Ladakh Challi Textiles, Ladakh Thigma, Ladakh Painting, Pabu of Ladakh, Ladakh Nambu Textile, Ladakh Pashmina Textile, Ladakh Chilling Me...
