Jammu Tawi, May 19 -- Police on Monday detained a criminal under the provisions of the Public Safety Act (PSA) over his repeated involvement in violent criminal activities in Jammu and lodged him in District Jail Bhaderwah, officials said on Sunday.
The accused, Vikash Singh alias Vinay, son of Balbir Singh, is a resident of Bomal village of Akhnoor in Jammu district, officials said.
They said Singh was continuously involved in offences posing a serious threat to public peace and order in the Akhnoor area and had a history of involvement in multiple criminal cases registered at Akhnoor Police Station.
The cases against him include assault, criminal intimidation, rioting and violations under the Arms Act, officials said.
