India, Oct. 2 -- The Congress Party is likely to stake its claim for one of the three Rajya Sabha seats scheduled for election on October 24, with veteran leader Digvijay Singh set to discuss the matter with the National Conference (NC) leadership.
Highly placed sources said that Digvijay Singh, former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, is expected to hold talks with NC leadership to seek one of the three seats for Congress that the coalition is poised to win. "He will formally take up the matter with the National Conference," they said, adding that Singh is expected to discuss the issue with NC president Dr. Farooq Abdullah or Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
