Srinagar, April 15 -- Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday unveiled the renovated War Memorial at the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI) Centre in Rangreth.

The memorial was inaugurated on the regiment's 78th Raising Day at the JAKLI centre near the old airfield. Abdullah expressed gratitude to the regiment for the opportunity and wished them continued safety and success in their service.

The JAKLI regimental centre was originally established on April 15, 1948, at Haft Chinar and later shifted to Rangreth in 1993.

Recognised as one of the premier training centres of the Indian Army, the institution conducts a rigorous nine-month training programme for recruits, covering field craft, weapon handling and physical conditioning....
