India, Aug. 26 -- Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said he would be flying from Srinagar to Jammu to personally monitor the developing situation in several parts of the province, which he described as "quite serious."
"In the meantime, instructions have been issued to place additional funds at the disposal of the Deputy Commissioners to cover emergency restoration work and other exigencies," the Chief Minister said in a statement.
He assured that the administration was on high alert and closely monitoring the ground situation. Officials have been directed to expedite relief and restoration measures to minimize hardships to the people.
