Jammu Tawi, Sept. 16 -- The Government of India has conveyed to the Jammu & Kashmir administration that any savings accrued under flood management projects must be strictly utilized for components already approved, and not used for new or unapproved works.
According to the minutes of the meeting held on April 24, 2026, to review flood management projects of the J&K and Ladakh Union Territories, the J&K Government requested the representatives of the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation to allow the use of savings for bank protection works under certain components.
