India, March 7 -- Authorities on Saturday suspended vehicular movement on the Bandipora-Gurez road following fresh snowfall at Razdan Top, officials said.
The decision was taken as a precautionary measure after snowfall made the high-altitude Razdan Pass slippery and unsafe for traffic.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Gurez, Mukhtar Ahmad, confirmed that traffic on the road linking Bandipora with the remote Gurez Valley has been suspended until further orders.
"Due to snowfall at Razdan Top and as a precautionary measure, movement on the Bandipora-Gurez road shall remain suspended till further orders," the SDM said.
