NEW DELHI, June 15 -- The Ministry of Ayush has created a new Guinness World Record for the largest audience to participate in a YouTube Live yoga session, with 4,35,831 verified viewers joining a global online programme ahead of International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2026.

The record was achieved during a special livestream conducted through the ministry's official YouTube channel, where participants collectively performed the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP). The event formed part of the government's outreach campaign for this year's International Day of Yoga celebrations.

According to the ministry, the new benchmark surpassed the previous Guinness World Record of 2,46,252 viewers, set in 2024, by a margin of 1,89,579 participants.
