NEW DELHI, Aug. 17 -- Indian Army's assault dog Tyson, who is attached to 2 Para Special Forces, has been honoured during the Independence Day 2026 celebrations for showing "bravery and extraordinary courage" during a counter-insurgency operation in J&K as part of Operation Rakshak early this year.
The name of Tyson, a German Shepherd of Remount Veterinary Corps, appeared among 89 Mention-in-Despatches (MiD) approved by President Droupadi Murmu on I-Day eve on Friday.
