Mumbai, April 7 -- Campbell Wilson has resigned as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Air India, a source said on Tuesday, marking a significant leadership change at the Tata Group-owned airline.

According to the source, Wilson conveyed his decision to the Board and stepped down from the position. An official response from Air India on the development is still awaited.

Wilson was appointed CEO and MD in July 2022 after Ilker Ayci declined the role earlier that year amid controversy. The airline had been acquired by the Tata Group from the Government of India in January 2022.
