India, Aug. 19 -- A 70-year-old man shot himself with his licensed rifle in the Dharamsal area of the Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir.

The man, identified as Pritam Das, son of Mansa Ram, and a resident of Hilla, shot himself using a 12-bore gun at his home in village Renthal, police informed.

He was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead by the doctors.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case and started an investigation.
