Jammu, Sept. 18 -- Senior Advocate Nirmal K. Kotwal has decided to withdraw from representing AAP MLA Mehraj Malik in the Public Safety Act (PSA) proceedings, following the circulation of alleged videos in which Malik reportedly claimed Jammu and Kashmir is not part of India and praised militant Burhan Wani and terrorist Masood Azhar.

In a press release, Kotwal called the alleged remarks "extremely insensitive, irresponsible, and detrimental to national security and sovereignty." He said his commitment to professional ethics and national integrity compelled him to step aside from the case.
