SRINAGAR, April 12 -- The Congress on Saturday termed the "prolonged delay" in restoring statehood for Jammu and Kashmir as unacceptable and said the party would continue its fight to safeguard people's rights.
The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) held a review meeting at its office here, attended by coordinators and district presidents from across Kashmir. The meeting was chaired by JKPCC president Tariq Hameed Karra.
Karra reviewed feedback on ongoing party activities in various districts. The party's indigenous programme - Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq, launched to press for restoration of statehood - also figured in the discussions.
