Nigeria, Sept. 1 -- Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has ordered the immediate suspension of all village and ward heads in Mallam-Fatori, the headquarters of Abadam Local Government Area, following their absence during his visit to the community.

Zulum issued the directive while inspecting public infrastructure being provided for residents returning to the insurgency-ravaged border town.

His Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dauda Iliya, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday in Maiduguri.

The governor expressed disappointment over the absence of the traditional leaders, describing their failure to attend his visit as unacceptable at a critical time when residents were returning to rebuild their homes and communities....
