Nigeria, Feb. 15 -- A fire outbreak at Singer Market continued to burn into the early hours of Sunday after flames engulfed a section of the busy market, causing panic among traders and residents.
Eyewitnesses said the fire intensified overnight, with thick black smoke billowing into the sky as people struggled to salvage goods and prevent further losses.
Firefighters from the Kano State Fire Service responded swiftly and worked for several hours to contain the blaze. Officials said significant progress was made in controlling the fire and stopping it from spreading to nearby buildings and shops.
