Nigeria, Oct. 30 -- President Bola Tinubu has performed the lesser pilgrimage, Umrah, in the holy city of Makkah, Saudi Arabia, offering prayers for Nigeria's peace, unity and continued progress.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Tinubu performed the spiritual exercise early Friday, seeking Allah's guidance and protection for the country and its people.

During the exercise, the President circumambulated the Holy Ka'aba at the Grand Mosque, Masjid al-Haram, in worship and thanksgiving for Allah's blessings on Nigeria.

Speaking with journalists shortly after the pilgrimage, Tinubu described the exercise as significant, saying it reaffirmed his commitment to the country, its people and the will of Almighty Allah.
