Nigeria, March 2 -- The Nigeria Football Federation had earlier confirmed that the national team would participate in the competition during the March 2026 FIFA international window. Nigeria was scheduled to open the tournament on March 27 against Iran at the Amman International Stadium, while Jordan was billed to face Costa Rica the same day.



However, the escalating conflict between Iran, the United States, and Israel has raised concerns about whether the Iranian national team will be able to travel or even participate. Organisers in Jordan are yet to make any formal announcement, but discussions are expected among participating federations and FIFA over the way forward.
