Nigeria, March 22 -- No fewer than 150 suspected bandits have reportedly drowned after a boat conveying them capsized in the Sabon Gida area of Sokoto State on Saturday evening.
Local sources said the vessel, which was carrying a large number of armed men, overturned while crossing a water body in the area, throwing all occupants into the water. According to the sources, the bandits were traveling in large numbers when the incident occurred.
"Preliminary information suggests that many of them could not swim, leading to heavy casualties," a source disclosed.
Initial reports indicated that none of the occupants survived the accident, although security agencies have yet to officially confirm the incident as of the time of filing this report...
