Nigeria, Aug. 17 -- An opposition coalition leader, Salihu Lukman, has said the victory of Ademola Adeleke in the just-concluded Osun State governorship election demonstrates how opposition parties can unite to defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Lukman made this known in a statement at the weekend.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Adeleke the winner of the Osun governorship election, after he defeated the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.

Adeleke's victory has continued to generate reactions from Nigerians and political analysts.
