Nigeria, June 3 -- Former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, has declared Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) as his preferred presidential candidate for the 2027 election.

Speaking on Arise Television's Morning Show on Wednesday monitored by The News Chronicle, Omo-Agege also alleged that supporters of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori are circulating falsehoods about him, claiming it stems from fear of his growing political influence ahead of the 2027 governorship contest.

Reaffirming his loyalty to his new political platform, he maintained that he remains a committed party man, stressing that those attacking him are unsettled by his political weight.
