Nigeria, Aug. 24 -- The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Anambra State Command, has deployed 750 personnel across the state to protect lives, property and critical national assets during the Eid-El Maulud celebration.

The deployment follows the Federal Government's declaration of Tuesday, August 25, 2026, as a public holiday to commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

In a statement issued on Monday by the Command's Head of Media and Tactical Operations, SC Okadigbo Edwin, the State Commandant, Commandant Maku Olatunde, said the Corps had activated strategic security measures through an operational order to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free celebration across the state.
