Nigeria Deploys First Batch of Peacekeepers to Guinea-Bissau
Nigeria, Aug. 1 -- The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has airlifted the first batch of 86 Nigerian troops to Guinea-Bissau as part of the ECOWAS Stabilisation Support Mission in Guinea-Bissau (ESSMGB), reaffirming Nigeria's commitment to regional peace and security.
The contingent, comprising 12 officers and 74 soldiers, departed the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja aboard a NAF C-130 aircraft. The remaining personnel are expected to be deployed in a subsequent airlift.
