Nigeria, June 21 -- Suspected armed members of the insurgent group Boko Haram have reportedly killed 11 farmers in two separate attacks in Borno State, raising fresh concerns over worsening insecurity in Nigeria's northeast. According to local vigilante sources, seven farmers were abducted during a violent raid on Kuwawu village in Borno State on Saturday. The attackers were said to have subjected the victims to brutal treatment before killing them. In a separate incident within the same period, four other farmers were also killed in an attack around the Lake Chad axis, an area long affected by insurgent activity.
