Nigeria, Oct. 8 -- The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Katsina State Command, has launched the Katsina State Parole Board to strengthen non-custodial measures and support the rehabilitation and reintegration of eligible offenders. The operational launch and stakeholders' engagement were held on Thursday in Katsina.

The Controller of Corrections in the state, Mr Abdulrasheed Sule, described the initiative as a significant milestone in improving the delivery of non-custodial services.

Sule explained that parole would allow eligible inmates who had demonstrated genuine reform and readiness for reintegration to serve the remainder of their sentences under specified conditions and supervision.
