Nigeria, Oct. 26 -- Elon Musk, owner of SpaceX, said on 24 October that Starlink is a civilian internet service and must not be used for offensive strikes. He made the statement on X after reports that Starlink speeds in Ukraine had been restricted earlier in the month.

"Using Starlink, a civilian commercial service, for offensive drone strikes to kill people has never been allowed, nor should it be," Musk wrote. He said the Ukrainian military broke Starlink's terms of service. "That loophole was closed last week," he added.

On 25 October, replying to a user, he said the terms "have remained consistent as a civilian system, not a means of killing." He added: "Violation of those terms will result in end of service."
