Nigeria, April 21 -- The conference, themed "Towards Excellence: Nurses and Midwives working together towards excellence in practice, education and regulation," drew participants from across Commonwealth countries.

Presenting the award, Kathleen McCourt, President of the Commonwealth Nurses and Midwives Federation, praised Zulum for his humanitarian efforts, particularly his housing initiatives for internally displaced persons and investments in healthcare infrastructure. She said his leadership has set a standard across the Commonwealth.

The governor was represented by Abubakar Kullima, alongside his aide Abdurrahman Ahmed Bundi.
