Gavel Falls Silent as Rivers High Court Begins Annual Break
Nigeria, June 17 -- The Rivers State High Court will draw the curtains on its judicial sittings for the annual vacation beginning July 20, with regular court activities scheduled to resume on Sept. 16.
The announcement was made by the Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Simeon Chibuzor-Amadi, in a statement released on Tuesday in Port Harcourt by the Chief Registrar of the court, Mr. David Ihua-Maduenyi.
Justice Chibuzor-Amadi explained that the annual recess is in accordance with Order 49, Rule 4(D) of the High Court of Rivers State Civil Procedure Rules, 2023 (as amended).
As part of the arrangement, all judicial divisions of the Rivers State High Court across the state will temporarily shut their doors during the vacation period....
