Nigeria, June 24 -- French health authorities announced the development on Wednesday, stating that the patient has been placed in isolation while contact-tracing efforts are underway to identify and monitor individuals who may have been exposed.

The Ministry of Health, however, assured the public that the risk of wider transmission within France and across Europe remains low.
