Nigeria, Oct. 26 -- The Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned the trial of Jimoh Yisawu, a former Managing Director of the Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company Ltd., over alleged money laundering until January 18, 2027.

The case, scheduled for trial before Justice Inyang Ekwo on Monday, could not proceed due to pre-election matters before the court.

Proceedings were also affected by Justice Ekwo's current sharing of a courtroom with Justice Chigozie Onah of Court 15 following renovation work in some courtrooms. The court subsequently fixed January 18, 19 and 20, 2027, for the commencement of trial.
