Nigeria, Aug. 16 -- The Borno State Police Command has recovered an unexploded ordnance (UXO), identified as a hand grenade, from a drainage slab in the Moduganari area of Maiduguri, the state capital. The command's Public Relations Officer, Nahum Daso, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday evening, August 15, 2026, saying the recovery followed a report received at about 12:40 p.m. concerning a suspected explosive device.
