Nigeria, Aug. 19 -- Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command have arrested a 49-year-old man, Chima Ogumba, suspected of armed robbery and recovered a pump-action gun and 50 live cartridges from him in Idemili North Local Government Area of the state.

The suspect was arrested on the morning of Monday, August 17, 2026, by operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad in Awkuzu during an intelligence-led operation along Nkpor Road.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the operatives stormed the identified location and conducted a search of the suspect, leading to the recovery of the firearm and ammunition.
