Nigeria, Sept. 20 -- Leaders of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN in Anambra State have rejected a proposed Tenure Elongation Congress slated to hold in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State later this month. The congress, scheduled to hold on the Sunday, 20th September, 2025, seeks to extend the official age bracket of youths within the NYCN to 40 years, from the subsisting legislation which puts at 18 to 35 years. The tenure elongation attempts have been greeted by criticisms from vary quarters, describing it as desperate attempts by forces within the Council's hierarchy to remain in the saddle of affairs.
