Nigeria, Sept. 8 -- Abia State is set to bring tertiary institutions together for a major sporting event, with the 2026 Abia State Tertiary Education Sports Fiesta taking place from November 3 to 6.

The much-anticipated inter-institutional sports festival, which will hold in Umuahia Township Stadium, is expected to host students/athletes from all the federal, state, and private institutions in the state.

The News Chronicle reports that the organizers of the inaugural Association of Students and Teachers Sports Festival (ASTESF) hold promises of talent scouting, youth development and relationship building between the institutions and stakeholders.
