Nigeria, Oct. 23 -- Human rights activist and lawyer Deji Adeyanju has predicted that President Bola Tinubu would defeat former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar in January, arguing that the incumbent has the political strength to secure at least 25 per cent of the votes in every state across Nigeria.

Adeyanju made the prediction in a Facebook post on Friday, October 23, 2026, in which he highlighted what he considers a major advantage for Tinubu over other potential contenders.

According to the activist, Tinubu could achieve the 25 per cent threshold in all 36 states of the federation, including Adamawa, Anambra, Kano and Oyo, regardless of their differing political dynamics.
